Why are we so strict on vaccinations?
In both our daycare and grooming shop we operate as a cage-free environment. This means that, while dogs are in our care, they are socializing and interacting with other dogs in a supervised, group play setting. The dogs get near-constant access to shared toys and water bowls, use the same potty areas, and are interacting with other dogs the duration of their stay with us. Not to mention, your dog or another client's dog may visit dog parks, go on hikes or walks through town, visit another animal care facility like a veterinary office or training, or even travel out of state with their family! Plenty of places to potentially pick up an illness.
All of the scenarios mentioned can expose your dog to viruses or illnesses that vaccinations are designed to protect against. Another dog may carry the virus without showing any symptoms, but are still able to pass that virus on to other animals. Even vaccinated dogs can still carry and spread an illness. To help protect your dog while in our facility, we hold very strict rules regarding vaccination status. This greatly reduces the risk of any dog in our care getting seriously ill with a vaccination-preventable illness or disease.
